About LYS Developmental Teams

The LYS Developmental Program is for U8 – U10 players based on their birth year. This is different from the Recreational Leagues which are based on Grade Year.

Developmental soccer is for kids who are enjoying their Rec soccer experience and looking for more soccer! Players will participate in a Sunday Development League in addition to their Saturday Recreational League. Kids should expect to have:

• one practice and one game per week with their Recreational team, and
• one practice and one game per week with their Development Team.

In total, 2 practices and 2 games per week. All Recreational games are in the Portland area and all Developmental Games are played either at Delta Park or Portland Christian. The Developmental Program has a Fall and a Spring season. The Fall season starts in September and runs through the first Sunday in November. The Spring Season runs from the last Sunday in February through the first Sunday in May.
